I use this a lot with old Beatle tunes that are slightly off standard pitch ( A=440 Hz). The Pitch allows you to change the key up or down in increments of 0.01. Pacemaker gives you control of “Tempo” “Pitch” and “Speed” The Tempo control allows you to slow down playback without affecting the key so you stay tuned to the song. One that I have used for several years is “The PaceMaker Plug-in”.
Winamp pacemaker key software#
Today there are several software packages that do magic that we old-timers only dreamed about. Slowing down a 45 RPM record to 33 RPM caused a key change. This way we could slow down the lick and keep it in the same key. This was approximately half the speed of the popular 33 1/3 speed of LP records. This was a speed that never really caught on but for aspiring musicians, it was a Godsend. Older turntables had an extra speed, 16 rpm.

For example, i can slow down a tune without changing the pitch, or i can change the pitch without changing the speed. Now, since i also have the Pacemaker tempo controller plugin, i can now change the tempo and key independently. I just downloaded the latest version of the CD Player plugin for Winamp (Windows), and this version seems to work (finally) with my CD Reader.
